Hello!
I am a strategic creative leader with an eye for innovation and creating the perfect solution for all my clients’ needs. I have 18+ years of experience delivering both digital and print designs to a variety of clients across a broad range of industries. These include marketing agencies, content production companies, medical and dental professionals/organizations, universities, event and meeting planners, travel and tourism agencies, construction companies, and various retailers and contractors.
Coming from a combined background of design and marketing, my work spans from branding and editorial design to art direction and styling, but also includes strong technical training and a passion for web and digital design.
The first 6+ years of my career were spent working for the Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (iRSM), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where I was the in-house Lead Designer and Illustrator. iRSM is an internationally recognized clinical and research institute focused on medical reconstructive and rehabilitative sciences, primarily for patients requiring head and neck reconstruction as a result of cancer or trauma. I collaborated with the interdisciplinary team (clinicians, researchers, executive and administrative staff, and patient representatives) to lead the creative vision of the institute while supporting the clinical, research and business strategies, with the primary goal to improve quality of life for all our patients.
Highlights of my accomplishments at iRSM included creating digital medical and scientific presentations; management of the iRSM website; design, development and management of 7 additional websites for expansion programs, laboratories, and research events, as well as creating all visual branding and collateral material for these programs and events. I also managed the patient information committee to create digital and print patient information materials and the patient newsletter.
In November 2007, I relocated to the US. I lived in Southern California for 12 years, and as of January 2020, I am now a resident of the Portland Metropolitan Area in Oregon. Since relocating to the US, I have been working remotely for RES Seminars, an administrative and meeting planner, as the Web and Graphic Design Lead. I have also been working as an independent contractor for a broad range of clients, including OneNinth Media, UI Health Craniofacial Center of Chicago, iRSM, UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center, Small World Toys, Powercomm Technical, R&R Partners, and various other retailers, contractors and marketing/media companies.
I work well independently, but continue to handle all my projects with the same one-team approach and experience I gained at iRSM, and consider myself a valuable member of every team I join. Along with the above contracts, I continue to work remotely for RES Seminars, and I am currently looking for new opportunities in the Portland Metropolitan Area.
In summary, I am a people person, a blogger, an artist, a self-motivated team player and an avid learner who is always striving to expand and further my skills.
Thank you for visiting my website. I look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
Johanne Regunathan
